Engineering Manager, Electrical Utility Distribution

(North Metro Atlanta)

We have an excellent direct-hire, permanent career opportunity for an Electrical Utility Distribution Engineering Manager in Northwest Metro Atlanta.  Competitive compensation, great benefits, and relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities Include:

* Overall, the Engineering Manager will direct the development, operations, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems utilizing successful planning, ensuring good distribution design and staking, effective oversight of construction, operations and maintenance activities, and ensuring future systems demand and reliability

* Direct and oversee Engineering staff, materials, and resources

* Manage and verify that distribution systems project designs and staking are correct and compliant with local and NESC specifications, manage right-of-way acquisitions, ensure accurate fault current calculations and accurate project cost estimates, oversee coordination with other utilities, services, telecom infrastructure, etc.

* Oversee correct and current construction specification documentation and material specifications

* Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with project stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, and customers to meet or exceed project deadlines, deliverables, costs, quality, and compliance to specifications

* Plan, maintain, track, and report budget, costs, and expenditures

* Manage engineering staff projects, work, schedules, hiring, promotion, training, and termination


* B.S. Degree, Engineering (prefer Electrical Engineering)

* Professional Engineering License (PE) required

* 5+ years of electrical utility, distribution, transmission, and substation engineering leadership experience

* Knowledge and proficiency with various city, county, and National Electrical Safety Codes (NESC) regarding construction, installation, maintenance, and utility infrastructure procedures

* Knowledge, proficiency, and experience with Project Management practices and methodologies

* Knowledge and proficiency with GIS technologies and systems, CAD design tools, and common office computer applications
