We have an immediate contract opening for a Construction Project Manager in Jersey City New Jersey. This position is approved for 1 year and could be extended an additional year.

Pay Rate Range: $41 - $46/Hour

Duration: 1 year (w/possible option to extend another year)
Start Date: 11/12/18 or ASAP (due to fingerprinting process)
LOCALS ONLY - no per diem or relo
US Citizenship or PERM Resident - OK
Project/Client: USPS
Client Approval is required for selected candidate

COMMENTS FROM PREVIOUS REQ:
PE registration is not a requirement, however the client prefers a degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management so those candidates will take precedent.

CLIENT COMMENTS:
Contract employee to be placed at the USPS Facilities Services office Manage their repair and alteration (R&A) projects.

•* DUE TO THIS JOB BEING FOR USPS ** the selected candidate will need to undergo the finger-print process and obtain a site level clearance/background check. This isn't a regular 'clearance' and it's all done between the client and candidate so everyone can work on this REQ but it is a very time consuming process and can take 4 weeks to complete.

Design & Construction Project Manager, Architect or Engineer

A mid career professional with Design and Construction management experience. The candidate would be responsible for delivering projects, managing the designers, providing project documents and contracts after awarded to construction.

Specific responsibilities include:
1. Managing multiple projects in multiple locations to ensure quality and completion within budget and on schedule
2. Managing Architectural/Engineering firms
3. Requesting, reviewing, and negotiating fee proposals
4. Reviewing design documents for compliance with U.S. Postal Service Standard Design Criteria
5. Managing construction contractors
6. Preparing bid packages, reviewing and recommending bid awards
7. Reviewing, negotiating, and approving change orders
8. Requesting project funding
9. Conducting site visits for meetings or inspections as necessary
10. Closing out completed projects

Experience and Qualifications:
BS degree in Architectural, Engineering, or Construction Management with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in the design & construction field.

Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Acrobat
