Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to initially be based on a project east of Atlanta, GA. This is a direct hire position with a competitive salary, great benefits and a great opportunity to manage high profile projects with a highly-respected company.

Pre-construction Management Responsibilities:

  • Have the ability to create conceptual scope narratives off minimal information from the client
  • Create and manage on overall milestone (critical path) schedule which includes all facets of the project development to include Owner and Design Team activities
  • Create and manage the entire budgeting process which includes detailed estimating, value engineering, project forecasting and managing company's budget and schedule expectations
  • Develop the procurement strategy and identify long lead time items specific to the project
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple members of the Pre-construction team which may include architects, engineers, project managers, and estimators
  • Develop positive working relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

Project / Post-construction Management Responsibilities:

  • Have proven ability to manage multiple small to medium size project teams, if required
  • Have detailed means and methods knowledge of the construction process and trade activities
  • Possess the ability to lead, supervise and mentor Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents in a wide range of industrial construction projects
  • Effectively manage the document control process and insure constant communication with the Client and Design Team
  • Manage all financial aspects of the project to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, profit projections and project close-out
  • Complete the project close-out process to include commissioning, as-built documentation and Operations/Maintenance Manuals
  • Effectively manage and coordinate subcontractors and vendors in a fair and productive manner
  • Builds effective relationships with clients, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company’s core values, Quality Management System (QMS) and meets or exceeds the client's expectations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ of Project Management experience with some specific manufacturing plant construction and design build project experience
  • B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • Proven leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with clients by meeting or exceeding their requirements
  • Experience supervising and developing direct reports while prioritizing and delegating significant responsibilities to others
  • Manages essential functions effectively by consistently driving quality, profitability, safe, and timely results on the assigned project
  • Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project scheduling
