Johnson Service Group (JSG) is teamed with a leader in the aerospace, defense, and we're searching for a talented Continuous Improvement Manager for our global client.

This will provide leadership with a Lean/Six Sigma focus to drive Continuous Improvement (CI) methods/ tools for improvement of QDRC within the value streams.

  • 4-6+ years of leadership experience and expertise within an aerospace/defense manufacturing environment. 
  • Related experience within a branch of the U.S. military will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with hydraulic, servo and/or pneumatic actuation products is a plus.
  • Ability to execute CI through the following actions:  define improvement goals; establish accountability through QDRC metrics; uses Lean/Six Sigma tools/techniques to improve processes/business results; establish document and control processes and promote environmental health and safety.  
  • Will provide leadership throughout Manufacturing and Engineering.Provide direct and/or indirect leadership by leading, managing and coaching team members to drive CI.  
  • Develop/maintain an organizational structure, supporting process improvement to align with various business units, Center of Excellence (COE) strategies, etc.
  • Plan/manage resources to profit plan and capital plan.
  • Provide current CI trends/methodologies to the senior leadership team.
  • Ability to drive effective organizational containment and corrective action processes to support potential product or quality system failures.
  • May act as primary point-of-contact for Manufacturing Engineering and as a PLC Subject Matter Expert.
  • Lead/develop vision and strategy for process improvement, via Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts/methods, as well as LEAN Manufacturing techniques (i.e. waste elimination, parts flow, pull, etc.) as well as Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with Taguchi, DOE, 8D, etc.
  • Significant understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong professional acumen, and effective written and verbal communication skills.


  • BS Degree in Management or an engineering/technical related field.
  • MS Degree in Management or an engineering/technical related field is a plus.
  • Greenbelt certification (within past twelve month) is required.
  • Blackbelt certification is highly preferred.
