Johnson Service Group is seeking Mechanical Engineer, Hardware for a Temporary Internship role through June of 2019 – Must be able to work full time and 3.25 GPA or above required - This is a paid internship!

Our customer is located in Warrendale, PA and is in the exciting healthcare industry.  The Mechanical Engineer Intern will assist with the design and development of solutions and test equipment for our electromechanical devices and robotic automation products.


  • Under staff Engineers supervision, design, analyze, document (solid models, dwgs, boms, test plans, test reports), integrate and debug mechanical aspects of components and/or robotic / electromechanical systems and/or sub-assemblies.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary technical teams to design, assemble and debug test systems / equipment to evaluate / verify prototype / preproduction designs.
  • Write test plans, execute tests, generate test reports and analyze results.
  • Work on entry level component and subassembly problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Evaluate issues and failures to determine root cause and potential corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently working on or completed BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3.25 GPA or above

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with 3-D CAD modeling (Solidworks, ProE) is required.
  • Some knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Hands-on experience with assembling and troubleshooting electromechanical assembles.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and assist cross functional teams with the debugging of complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and committed to collaborative processes
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic level of experience with LabView and Autocad
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical (robotic) systems
