Johnson Service Group is looking for a Junior Data Scientist for our client in Stamford, CT.  The candidate must be open to a short term contract that might extend and be VERY solid in analyzing large sets of data to understand the 'story' it's telling and work with Business users.  

Statistics / Mathematics backgrounds have done well in this position.


Lead problem solving.  Perform business analysis for operational metrics and underlying data capture tools needed to drive and execute business intelligence strategies including: operational reporting and strategic business analytics to support decision-making, retention, and growth strategy.

Specific duties include:

*Work with internal executive-level clients to define Business Intelligence (BI) requirements for supporting fact-based strategic decisions and determining appropriate Bl solutions.

•Act as senior strategic analytical advisor to internal executive level clients by interpreting and presenting analytical findings and recommendations that are contextualized for the audience and decisions being made.

•Identify opportunities for improving data acquisition and collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams to drive system and business changes needed to implement improvements.

•Develop business and functional requirements for data capture and user interface functionality for the corporate Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

•Assist with establishing strategies including: identifying data trends and areas for improvement within the business and Bl programs.

•Work with teams across business units in support of initiatives involving BI data.


Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering (any field), Finance, or a related field plus four (4) years of management consulting or technology consulting experience with a leading consulting firm.

Experience must include:

•             Ability to conduct complex problem solving, by gathering data and stakeholder views, analyzing facts, and synthesizing insights

•             Identifying and articulating problem statements, turning analytical results into business recommendations, and presenting to senior executives

•             Experience in stakeholder management, including tailoring and communicating findings and business recommendations to senior executives

•             Working in cross-functional teams onshore and offshore throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to implement system changes

•             Project management skills to execute initiatives and prioritize competing requests

•             Microsoft Excel including: demonstrated knowledge of formulas, VLOOKUPs pivot tables, and charting/presentation

•             Demonstrated knowledge of Structured Query Language (SOL)

•             Microsoft PowerPoint
