Johnson Service Group is seeking a Master Production Planner for one of our key clients in the Greater Jackson, MS area. This is a direct hire opportunity. The incumbent must posses recent SAP and Master Scheduling on a large scope. This individual will also be responsible for providing the plant with a monthly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast.


  • Determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods down including safety stock levels 
  • The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, by month, for a rolling three-month period
  • Planning the timing and sequence of order manufacturing considering customer request date, promised lead-time, customer priority and internal resource constraints
  • Define and follow-up Designing Process Milestone to endure the Engineering Department will deliver the Designs
  • Monitoring of customer deliveries, production order progress and factory load vs capacity to provide timely information to allow the business to react to issues and opportunities as they arise
  • Advising the organization of over- and under-load situations to enable adjustments to sales plans, offered lead times, and mannered or installed capacity
  • Working in conjunction with Operations and Procurement to optimize the production sequence to maximize effectiveness of resource usage and understanding of capacities and constraints
  • Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan for designated products
  • Perform supply demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months
  • Make delivery commitments, which involve checking uncommitted material and availability of capacity
  • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis
  • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability
  • Project finished goods inventory levels on a quarterly basis. Achieve desired corporate inventory turn targets
  • Insure coordination with operations and the scheduler to execute Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric on production performance to the requested production schedule
  • Review sales forecast with business manager on a monthly basis, and suggest modifications consistent with knowledge of current or historical demand


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operation Research
  • 8+ years in Master Scheduling, planning, or Inventory Control 
  • SAP and Master Scheduling experience
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements 
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) 
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
