Johnson Service Group (JSG) is teamed with a global aerospace and defense leader who is seeking contract/temp Mechanical Assemblers on multiple shifts.  i  

Scope of Experience and Responsibilities:

  • 6 months+  of experience in the assembly, installation, and alignment of mechanical assemblies and/or sub-assemblies.
  • Previous assembly experience in automotive, high tech, aerospace, or any related manufacturing environment.  
  • Ability to assemble from work instructions.
  • Use of hand tool, including wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrapers and box cutters.
  • Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment as needed.
  • Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirements.
  • Pick and/or stock parts from point of use in stock rooms and places completed parts.
  • Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner, including Quality Assurance and Test Records.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical inspection techniques (e.g., formalized inspection standards, inspection instructions, best practices) and use inspection tools is a plus.
  • The ability to read and use inspection equipment, such as micrometers, functional and cylindrical gauges, comparators, indicator setups and scales is a plus.
  • Knowledge and ability to use torque wrenches to adjust parts and equipment, or install parts and equipment, following established specifications and procedures is a plus.
  • Will use a computer and web-based systems to input, access, modify, or output information.
  • Must be able to write effectively, to read and understand work documents and to communicate information clearly to coworkers and supervisor. 
  • This position requires manual dexterity or the ability to work quickly with hands.
  • Must have a good attitude and be highly reliable.
  • Must be able to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team.
  • Ability to perform simple math computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Completion of vocational assembly training is a plus.
