Pipeline Operator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position is in the Pipeline Department with the primary responsibility being pipeline and related facility maintenance in the Artesia, South Carlsbad East or South Carlsbad West systems. Secondary responsibility will be any work assigned related to any other Lucid facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performing one call line spots by marking pipelines and completing One Call requests.
  2. Participate and successfully complete training programs, process safety management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations.
  3. Reviews procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  4. Performs remedial and preventative maintenance and maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices inside and outside of the facilities.
  5. Responds to operational emergencies as a required.
  6. Performs regulatory required inspections.
  7. Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
  8. Install pipeline markers and do routine inspections on ROW.
  9. Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
  10. Attend and participate in damage prevention meetings.
  11. Dehy monitoring and maintenance.
  12. Launch and receive pipeline pigs to clear liquids from the pipelines.
  13. Monitor tank levels and take gauge readings.
  14. Set up and monitor methanol injection tanks.
  15. Clear line freezes.
  16. Pipeline maintenance including repairing leaks, painting, greasing valves, blow down, evacuate and purging of high pressure pipelines, repair of pigs, and performance of housekeeping duties on assigned.
  17. Assist with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed.
  18. Start up and shut down of compressor stations.
  19. Monitor gas quality at interstate pipeline sell points.
  20. Record SCADA plant readings.
  21. Complete all required documentation.
  22. All other duties as required for efficient departmental operations.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS

Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.)

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid New Mexico Driver License and meet company’s insurance requirements.

Knowledge in SCADA
