Job Description:

  • Assist with the design, integration, and improvement of manufacturing processes. Conducts basic analysis regarding overall quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development of new methods and procedures. 
  • Creates necessary process documentation and aides in communication to staff. 
  • Studies and analyzes the process life cycle for manufacturing goods. Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Recommends corrections in technical applications and analysis. Specifies materials, equipment and supplies required for completion and implementation of technical projects.
  • Identifies and addresses recurring problems either with the quality of the product or the reliability of testing procedures.
  • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.  Documents quality issues and performance measures for management review.  
  • Identifies opportunities to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Conducts analyses pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, processes or standards and provides recommendations accordingly. 
  • Provides production floor and assembly support in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Manufacturing change order (MCO), and other manufacturing process changes. 
  • Responsible for creating process and operator work instructions for both new and existing production processes.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
  • Applies continuous improvement/lean concepts to identify and eliminate non-value-added tasks and/or activities.

Experience / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of Process Engineering experience. 
  • Knowledge and exposure to Process Engineering fundamental theories, principles and concepts. 
  • Analytical, detailed oriented with ability to manage time and tasks appropriately
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Familiarity with ISO and lean principles
  • Ability to use quality inspection equipment including but not limited to: depth gage, calipers, micrometer, product gages, and CMM preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or schematics
