JSG is looking for a Production Lead to work at one of our premier Aerospace Clients in Simi Valley, CA.

Brief Description

Production Lead (CNC Machinist) - 3rd shift - is responsible for producing work in the most efficient manner while meeting the drawing/planning specification /requirements.

  • Leading and directing the team, assigning jobs, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on more complex issues.
  • Perform production work in the Mill and or Lathe area and shall be capable of sets-ups, operating, and adjustments of CNC Mill and Lathe machines. 
  • Train line associates in set-up and proper use of Grinding, Mills, and Lathe machines in work cells. 
  • Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts. 
  • Able to read and interpret CNC programs. 
  • Capable of making offsets and changes to programs on CNC Machines.   
  • Responsible for scheduling sequence of orders and the cell’s work load.
  • Serve as a Change Agent- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and improve new and old processes.
  • Put into practice Process Control Charts for all PSI part numbers with Manager/ME (Set-up and Run Logs).


  • 5+ years experience with CNC machining, grinding, and general shop knowledge.
  • Familiar with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Must be able to work as part of a team.   
  • Skilled in the use of indicator, Profilometers,Dial bore gage, and plate inspection methods, first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
  • Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0002-.0005”) of I.D  Spherical profile, roundness, concentricity.
  • Understanding of machine tool accuracies, size offsets, and tool offsets using various cutting abrasives.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and tool life for aerospace materials.
