A Project Engineer in Packaging Automation group will be exposed to a myriad of packaging processes. Typical engagements last between 2 – 9 months with the field support phase lasting 4 – 8 weeks.

This unique experience will allow candidates to gain a wide-range of experience in various packaging and material handling processes.  This role will provide a unique and invaluable opportunity to employ state-of-the-art tools to craft customized, fully integrated packaging systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design low voltage (typically 480VAC and lower) power and control systems for automated packaging applications including control system panels, safety systems, and automation network design
  • Prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, and other necessary project documents
  • Develop functional specifications/sequence of operations
  • Develop PLC and HMI applications
  • Execute project work independently within budget and on schedule
  • Assist in the development & implementation of acceptance test plans for the equipment at vendor’s facility and for the installed system at customer’s facility
  • Continually develop technical and interpersonal skills

 Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:
    • Conveyor system controls design
    • Packaging equipment integration
    • Rockwell Automation PLC/HMI programming
    • Capital project execution
  • Excellent skills in time management and organization
  • Ability to communicate in an objective and concise manner with internal and external project team members
  • Function, organize, and maintain project schedules independently
  • Demonstrate good observation and listening skills
  • Travel < 50%
