Johnson Service Group, a nationwide engineering and technical staffing company is looking to fill a full-time Quality Control Manager role with one of our clients in the Western Suburbs. This person will be responsible to manage and oversee all the operations of the Quality Control Department, Hiring and Training of Quality Inspectors, and oversee and manage audits.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Manage and oversee all operations of the Quality Control department; including:
    • Quality Control Engineer
    • 4 – 5 Inspectors
  • Implement and sustain new processes to improve the department
  • Hire, Train, and educate quality control inspectors
  • Be the leader of the Quality Culture throughout the plant
  • Maintain positive improvement from audits
  • Report to upper management on the status of the quality throughout the company, including, but not limited to:
    • Costs
    • Quality Reports/Audits; From:
      • Plant
      • Field
      • Engineering
    • Processes/Procedures

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong computer skills needed; Microsoft Office Proficiency required
  • Good mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to read/interpret construction documents and technical journals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibits good work ethic and decision making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • PCI I and II (Level III Preferred)
  • At least 3 years managing a quality control department in the precast industry
  • Proven strong leadership skills
