Johnson Service Group is actively searching for Sheet Metal/Structures Mechanic with minimum 2 years of experience, military and/or commercial experience with a $1000 Sign On Bonus; this is a long term contract assignment in North Carolina and a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with an aerospace industry leader. The Sheet Metal/Structures Mechanic is responsible to inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, systems, and components and is responsible to perform work within estimated time and within the client's Airframe Services, FAA, and customer standards of quality.

The Structures Mechanic is responsible to inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, systems, and components. 

  • Maintain, modify and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal.
  • Repair, rework, install and fabricate the complex aircraft structural assemblies, both internal and external.
  • Lay out plans, fabrication and installation models for modifications.
  • Perform checks; carry out inspections and removal of components.
  • Study technical manuals, blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Provide assistance to aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks.
  • Remove and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.
  • Perform final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced

1. Effectively communicate with and assist Aircraft Engineers in the development of repair solutions and modifications for transport category aircraft.
2. Fabricate parts and assemblies.
3. Inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, systems, and components.
4. Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
5. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
6. Perform work within estimated hours.
7. Follow all safety procedures and specifications.
8. Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
9. Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
10. Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments with little or no rework.
11. Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, counseling, and guidance.
12. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.

Minimum Qualifications: 
 Aircraft structural overhaul experience, FAA Airframe certificate, or successful completion of an Aircraft Structural Training Program.

  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift
  • Must be willing to work overtime, as requested
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. 
  •  Language (read, write, speak, and understand English)
