JSG is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk III for one of our premier Manufacturing Client in Lawrence, Kansas!

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Shipping Clerk will play a critical role in processing and validating the quality of incoming orders. The clerk will also prepare outgoing shipments and other support duties for the office.

The position will support employees in day-to-day operations including routine administrative support, daily shipping/receiving as well as maintenance of regulatory files (quality control). Clerk will have some light office administrative duties working with small team.  

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • The clerk is the main point of contact for incoming deliveries and shipments from the site.
  • Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with procurement to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Responsible for maintaining site regulatory records and inspection files, scanning completed records Reviews work flow to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
  • Prepares shipping labels via UPS and FedEx, affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.  Packs orders in cardboard boxes and wooden crates as required to safely ship products to customers
  • Ensures that all received goods are properly transacted into the computer system in a timely manner.  Schedules pickups and prepares bill for freight companies.
  • Additional administrative functions such as typing, filing, report generation and tracking, customer visitation arrangements and document scanning as needed.

Required Qualifications & Background

  • Associates Degree or High School diploma and five (5) years experience.
  • Must be results oriented, attention to detail, strong administration skills, effective communication skills required to interact with both customers, employees, other Departments and Business Units.
  • Microsoft Office experience a must with strong Word and Excel experience and comfortable with learning new technology and software.
