Johnson Service Group is looking for a Sr. Compliance Advisor for our client in Tampa, FL.

This is a DIRECT HIRE position. (These roles require a work status of Perm resident or US Citizen)

Position Summary Description

  • Performs as part of a team that manages a centralized Reliability Standards compliance monitoring and reporting process to assure auditable compliance with FERC, NERC & FRCC standards as well as FERC Standards of Conduct. Communicates with subject matter experts, management, and outside consultants regarding NERC Reliability Standards.
  • Coordinates established balloting process for new and revised NERC Reliability Standards.
  • Participates in the coordination of requests with regional regulatory agencies and internal departments to ensure compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures Seminole is complying with all compliance requirements and regulations set forth by regulatory agencies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience in Auditing, Risk Management, Engineering, and/or specific subject matter experience. 
  • Five (5) experience with NERC Reliability Standards is highly desired.
  • Must have thorough knowledge & understanding of NERC Reliability Standards.
  • Remain current with all NERC, FERC & FRCC compliance regulations & procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable and familiar with the technical terminology used in the reliability standards
  •  

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related business field is required. Related academic degree considered; may include auditing, legal or risk management.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.  May substitute two (2) years of experience for each year of academics.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the coordination of daily activities in the compliance department, including oversight of incoming calls and requests for information.
  • Performs in compliance monitoring activities such as audits, spot checks, and self-certification.
  • Confers with management to identify and address potential areas of non-compliance and anticipate future compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates established balloting process for new and revised NERC Reliability Standards.
  • Performs compliance assessments, documents compliance status, and makes recommendations on corrective action required to achieve compliance.
  • Participates in addressing requests with regional regulatory agencies and internal departments to ensure compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner. Participates in coordination of mandatory filings for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • May represent organization at meetings at the regional and federal level.
  • Evaluates & prepares procedural documentation, ongoing monitoring, testing, and remediation.
  • Prepares and presents audit and spot check reports.
  • Provides technical knowledge in the planning, development, organization, coordination, implementation, and review of Seminole’s Internal Compliance Program
  • Interprets new and existing regulations in consultation with legal and other subject matter experts.
  • Other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.

Notes:

  • Some travel and work outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be willing to follow established protective measures including, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
