Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Contract Engineering and Technical Staffing firm specializing in Engineering and Manufacturing. We are currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer that is the link between supplier quality, incoming inspection, and production activities. The Supplier Quality Engineer may be asked to assist in special projects coordinated by the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the non-conforming material system and review processes.
  • Utilize data driven problem-solving methods to improve key quality metrics.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Work with Purchasing as needed to insure timely corrective actions are made with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits.
  • Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s
  • Process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, FOD prevention, 6?Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Supports the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of quality system programs in compliance to needed standards.
  • Work with Engineering to insure the production lines are keeping up to the standards needed.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Procedures, Work Instructions, and any related forms for production.
  • Leads efforts metrology system’s
  • Performs other tasks as assigned. 

Competencies                                     

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques
  • PPAP and Advanced Product Quality
  • Proven history of customer satisfaction success both internally & externally
  • Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement

Education and/or Experience                                      

  • Associates degree, preferably in Quality or Engineering
  • 2+ years of Quality Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry
  • 20+% travel
