Johnson Service Group, Inc. has an immediate need for a Traveling Site Manager (Build & Automation Installations) for a manufacturing/warehouse logistics and automation organization.

  • Position will be based out of Atlanta, GA; Relocation assistance is available
  • This is a direct hire full-time position
  • This role has extension travel throughout the United states (100% travel)

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in Business Administration) 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant industry or service (Automation; Plant Maintenance; Production; Logistics; Commissioning…)
  • 100% travel in the US & Canada


  • Responsible for all project metrics including safety, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction as it is related to the On-Site Phase.
  • Coordinating all sub-vendor on site activities and deliveries
  • Insure all required On Site communication between project stakeholders, installation team, commissioning team, suppliers, etc. occurs in a time frame and to the level of detail necessary for a successful project
  • Monitor and ensure that all carried out work is OSHA compliant, and also compliant with customer safety rules if applicable
  • Ensure that Safety Signs are placed and coordinates safety training with customer Monitor and ensure that all on site tasks and deliverable's are performed on schedule
  • Maintain internal installation and commissioning schedule (progress, milestone completion, minor delays) and trigger updates if significant changes are necessary
  • Hold regular (minimum weekly) site coordination and progress meetings with supervisor, installation and commissioning team and vendors, and distribute meeting Minutes to all participants and stakeholders
  • Hold weekly Site Safety Meetings with all sub vendors and files protocols
  • Conduct all necessary steps for coordination with the customer and insure customer deliverables are provided on time and quality
  • Organize rental equipment with PM, organize needed site supplies (office, tools, miscellaneous)
  • Make quality checks of installed equipment and document the results
  • Manage the unloading of deliveries
  • Prepare and perform static acceptances with the customer
  • Prepare and perform sub vendor testing’s and acceptances
  • Produce, distribute and file documentation as required to insure all on site requirements are satisfied and all possible risk is mitigated should a (contractual) dispute arise.
  • Documentation produced by a Site Manager is:
    • Meeting minutes with action items
    • Critical path schedules (Tracking the progress in % and delays on a weekly basis)
    • Status reports (internal and external)
    • Open Issues lists
    • Working hour reports
    • Progress report for forecast
  • Know and understand which issues need to be escalated, who they should be escalated to and when an issue needs to be escalated in order to eliminate negative impact to a project
    • Act as primary Customer interface for On Site activities
    • Coordinate change order pricing and proposals
  • Implementation of site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
  • Regular meetings with the Customer Relations Manager, to discuss activities and progress
  • Providing maintenance service support, to the installed system
